Alice Wielant

Originally a violinist, Alice Wielant pursued a rich musical journey before fully dedicating herself to her voice. After earning a Master’s degree in violin, she embraced opera singing and trained at IMEP in Namur, followed by the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels under the guidance of Belgian baritone Lionel Lhote. She then furthered her studies in Germany at the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg with soprano Iride Martinez, as well as at the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg with Hélène Bernardy.

Alice was a laureate of several competitions (Les Nouveaux Talents de l’Art Lyrique in Ans, the international “Rita Gorr” competition in Ghent…) and was part of the MM Academy of La Monnaie Opera, which allowed her to participate in numerous productions.

​

She has been heard in leading roles such as the title role in Puccini’s Suor Angelica in Namur, as well as in Orff’s Carmina Burana under the baton of Guy Van Waas. She was selected as a young musician for the Encuentro de Santander Festival, bringing together the "young promises of tomorrow" in Spain, and has performed with the Belgian troupe Les Matelots de la Dendre. She also collaborates in a duo with Belgian guitarist Maarten Vandenbemden.

Mozartian roles are among her favorites: she has performed as the Second Lady in Die Zauberflöte, then as Contessa Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Berlin Opera Academy. She has also sung the role of Pamina in Luxembourg.

​

On the Belgian stage, she was recently heard at the Théâtre Marignan, at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie, at the Kaaitheater with the Brussels Operettetheater under the direction of Eric Lederhandler, and in Antwerp with Volksopera under the direction of Stijn Saveniers. 

Alice has just recorded her first album with the Promania label.
